Kraken 1.1.3 BETA now available off SourceForge Download page (see Download link).
freenode.net just switched ports 7000 and 7070 to SSL access. I was unable to comunicate with freenode until I switched from port 7000 to 8000 (port 7000 tested OK in the openfire Gateways section, but I couldn't actually log in). Is there a way to use SSL to access an IRC server? |

hrm. does freenode not have -any- non-ssl ports anymore?
Please submit an issue i nthe issue tracker about this -- something like "IRC needs SSL support" and make sure to mention freenode. =)

Yes, it does. As I tried to indicate in my initial post, I was able to switch to post 8000 and log in successfully.
From http://freenode.net/irc_servers.shtml
All freenode servers listen on ports 6665, 6666, 6667, 7000(SSL Only), 7070 (SSL Only) 8000, 8001 and 8002. I.e., only 2 of 8 ports require SSL.
