Contact list in Gadu-Gadu / problem

I found a problem in contact list / roster with Gadu Gadu.

The problem is that GG is deferent solution that the others and user not always store contacts list on the Gadu-Gadu server (it is only additional option) - very offer they store contact list only locally.
Every login contact list synchronization makes a lot of trouble in this case.

Could you please fix this problem.


My solution is:
- contact list are stored locally in openfire server and are not synchronize every log in
- contact list ale synchronized / downloaded only once when user  first time register to the protocol in openfire server

I vaguely remember not being sure how well GaduGadu synced up it's roster list and so at first I did it with no server side, and then added some minor server side stuff in.  Apparently not enough?  ;D  I am currently waiting on the new jggapi ng stuff to be deemed golden for me to switch Kraken to it -- the person who's working on it is on these forums and and has really picked it back up.  =D  (it had gone stagnant)

Roster synchronization is not used in Gadu-Gadu. From the beginning all personal contact where stored locally, after some time GG allowed store contact on the server (only store, not use ;) ). In clients like Miranda is option import/export contacts and it is the best solution (the same is in GG application).


I also find out today that if you would like delete any of the GG contact from the roster all GG contact despaired - it is strange and I think it is bug!


Last think which I found is that when you send messages it is delivered without polish letters like ż, ł, ź, ó, ś, ć etc. receiver gets some strange symbols (we are using charset=ISO-8859-2 if it will helps)


It is possible to fix it?

I'm not looking directly at the code right now but yes -- i recall the ability to "Store" the contact list.  It's definitely possible that I'm simply not updating said contact list when things change. 

 

As for all GG contact disappearing, ack!  =/

 

Ok -- if you don't mind hold tight on these issues a bit.  Would you mind poking your head in in about a week and adding them to my issue tracker?  It's down at the moment while the vendor and I work on a fix for some issues it was running into.

 

I'm also planning on releasing Kraken 1.1.3 today, tomorrow .. .this week.  =)   So this fix probably won't make it into that release but we'll see!

It's possible, there's a few things that are keeping me from releasing 1.1.3 right now.  For example, for some reason Yahoo is power wiping everyone's contact list which is .. you know .. not ideal.  ;D  So I'm hesitant to put out anything until that's fixed.  That said, I might be able to get the Gadu-Gadu fixes in.  We'll see what happens!  Obviously if someone else fixes it and sends me code I can almost guarantee it'll be in the next release  =)

two thinks are the most important - do not synchronize contacts list ... at all, any time (if possible better only in first time registration in GG communicator ). Chart set (polish letters)

do we know when next release will be published? - it is possible to get version where Gadu-Gadu protocol is corrected?

Nothing yet, still behind on some other issues.  I'm fairly certain I recall someone creaeted another library besides the one I'm using that improves a lot of things but I'm not sure where that person went.  =/

I think actual version is valid because Gadu-Gadu don't evaluate so fast. It is possible to get some version with fixed char set coding an without contact synchronization. People push me very hard to change this.

rooster synchronization and char set it is little bit frustrating, a specially this first one.

It would be perfect if you be able to fix it in v1.1.3
